Their flight from Honolulu to Tokyo lasted about 10 hours but as passengers enjoyed greater comforts than do today commercial airline travelers. It was during this part of the flight that General Christenberry       apparently approached Marilyn about    visiting the troops in Korea. She said yes.

The interior of the B-377 was generally configured so that First Class passengers rode in the back of the plane and Tourist Class  in the front. An overnight flight to Tokyo probably also had the sleeping berths configuration for First Class passengers. In the center of the aircraft a stairway led down to the general            passenger lounge with magazines and refreshments.
