"Ladies of the Chorus", 1949 with Adele Jergens. The poster at left gives Marilyn top billing but the original movie poster didn't. Adele Jergens was then the star, but Marilyn's rapid rise in popularity with the public resulted in a new poster when the movie was later re-released- to make money from the more famous Marilyn . At the time she fell in love with her voice coach, Fred Karger, and wanted to marry him, but he didn't want to. Marilyn later said Karger was her first true love.
