In January, 1954, Marilyn was having problems with her studio because they wanted her to do movie roles she didn't like and did not want. She was also being grossly under-paid for her films compared to other actors and actresses around her. Her fan appeal was tremendous and growing at an     incredible rate yet the studios still held her down.Plus, her innate insecurity, which continued no matter how successful she became, caused her to feel depressed about her future in films. Wanting  a change in her life she suddenly agreed to Joe's     long standing marriage proposal and they quickly arranged a private ceremony in San Francisco.
