Joe played for the Seventh Air Force team (loaded with professional baseball players in uniform) against the Navy Sub Base team (also loaded with wartime baseball pro's) and before a record 30,000 crowd powered out a still standing record home run hit.
Joltin' Joe's homer sailed 435 feet out of Honolulu Stadium
