Baseball had long and early roots in  Hawaii- many teams comprised of ethnic and military groups actively played each other for decades.

Hawaii is no stranger to baseball history. In fact buried near Hawaii's Royalty in Nuuanu Valley is the man credited with being "The  Father of Modern Baseball", Alexander    Cartwright. It was Cartwright who organized the N.Y. Knickerbocker Baseball Club in 1845, established its principal rules of play and brought baseball to the West Coast and      Hawaii. "The Sultan of Swat", Babe Ruth,  was no stranger to Hawaii either. He played        numerous exhibition games in the islands and when not playing baseball, loved to be out playing golf- and enjoying Hawaii's weather.
