"The Honolulu Trip" When Marilyn made her first television guest appearance it was on "The Jack Benny Show" in a skit where Jack and Marilyn are on the S.S. Lurline headed for Hawaii. But her very rare TV appearance was more complicated and interesting. Marilyn it has been said didn't like Television, but the reasons really may have been that her movie contract forbade her from receiving money from any TV appearances. The movie industry in the 1950's was deathly afraid of the new medium of Television and Marilyn Monroe was actually one of the biggest new movie box office draws when Hollywood really needed one.
