It is also interesting to speculate that Joe DiMaggio, who by this time was falling totally in love with Marilyn, and known to be a big TV watcher, probably saw the show and got the idea that that's what he would do-- propose marriage to Marilyn and whisk her off to a honeymoon in Hawaii. And in fact she  accepted his proposal within the next two months and they set off by Pan Am Clipper to Hawaii, and then Japan. For Joe it seemed like it would be a great     triumphant tour, with wife Marilyn in tow, to places where he was known and highly revered. But he was in for a big surprise- as it was Marilyn towing Joe.
